Jyotirao Phule Biography

Jyotirao Govindrao Phule, also called Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, was born on April 11, 1827, in Satara, Maharashtra. His parents were Govindrao Phule and Chimnabai. His family worked as gardeners, which was considered a low-status job in society. Even though they didn’t have much money, Phule went to the Scottish Mission’s High School in Pune and finished his education in 1847.
