Shiv Das Meena was born on October 5, 1964, in Tonk district, Rajasthan. He comes from a village called Begumpura in the same district. He completed his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) in Jaipur. Later, he went to Japan and earned a master’s degree in international development studies from Kobe University.
Career Start
Shiv Das Meena began his career in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1990 as an assistant collector in Kancheepuram district. He is part of the 1989 batch of IAS officers.
Professional Journey
Throughout his career, Meena has held many important roles in both the state and central governments. He was the managing director of Metrowater, Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO), and the Medical Services Corporation. He also served as the executive director of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
Meena held positions like commissioner of commercial taxes, agriculture, civic supplies, and consumer protection during late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s time.
