Sitaram Yechuri Biography

Sitaram Yechury was born on August 12, 1952, in Madras (now called Chennai), Tamil Nadu, in a Brahmin family that spoke Telugu. He went to school at All Saints High School in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He studied Economics for his Bachelor’s degree at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, where he graduated with top marks. Later, he did his Master’s in Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in 1975.
